Uber Healthy Smoothies To Start Your Day The Right Way

Smoothies are the ultimate way to jam pack as much nutrition as possible into one drink, and what better way to kick start your day than with a glass full of nutrient-rich fruit and vegetables, plus protein-filled yogurt and milk. Here are some of my best tried-and-tested smoothies that are full of vitamins, which will surely keep you energized and your minds sharp the entire day!

Banana Chia Smoothie

Recipe yields 2 servings

Prep time: 1m

Ingredients

  • 1 Banana, frozen
  • 1 cup almond milk, cold
  • 1 tbsp. Chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp organic peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp. Protein chocolate powder
  • ½ tsp. Ground cinnamon

Preparation

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until a smooth consistency is achieved. Pour out in glasses and serve cold.

Super green Smoothie

Recipe yields 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 2 cups bananas, frozen
  • 1 cup berries, frozen

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients in a blender and whir on high until a smooth, creamy consistency is achieved. Pour out in glasses and serve cold.

Orange Dream Cream-sickle smoothie

  • 1 orange, peeled and frozen
  • 2 tbsp. frozen orange juice concentrate
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup fat free yogurt
  • ice cubes

Preparation

Combine all the smoothie ingredients in a blender and process until a smooth puree forms. Pour out in a glass and drink chilled.

Hemp, chia and Cherry Revitalize

  • 2 cups tart cherries, frozen
  • 1 cup coconut water, cold
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp. Chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp. hemp seeds
  • 2 medium bananas, frozen

Probiotic Kefir Smoothie

Recipe yields 2 servings

1 cup Lifeway Plain Low Fat Kefir

2 bananas, frozen

¼ cup almond or peanut butter

Toppings

1 tablespoon almonds

1 tablespoon raw honey

1 tablespoon bee pollen

Preparation

Toss all the smoothie ingredients in to a blender and whirl on medium speed until a desired consistency is achieved. Pour in to glasses and top with your favorite toppings.

Vegan Pina Colada

Ingredients

  • 1 banana, frozen
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • ½ cup soy milk
  • 1 tbsp. ground flax seeds
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks, frozen
  • 1 tbsp. stevia
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ice cubes

Preparation

Add banana chunks, pineapple chunks, coconut milk, soy milk, stevia, vanilla extract, and flax seeds in a blender and combine until a smooth puree forms. Serve immediately in tall glasses.

Coconut Cacao Green Smoothie

Recipe yields 1 serving

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • 1 kiwi, peeled
  • 3 cups fresh baby spinach
  • 2 tbsp. raw cacao powder
  • 2 banana, peeled and frozen

Preparation

Start by blending together all the ingredients except spinach. Once all the ingredients are well combined, add spinach and whir until a smooth consistency is achieved.

Mango Lucuma super-green Smoothie

Recipe yields 2 servings

Ingredients

  • ½ cup soy milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • ½ cup frozen mango
  • ½ tsp spirulina powder
  • 2 tsp. Lucuma powder
  • ½ avocado
  • 1 cup spinach
  • leaves from 1 stalk of kale
  • ice cubes

Preparation

Add all ingredients to the blender and blend on high speed until all the ingredients are well mixed. Pour in to glasses and serve cold.
